Hey there, I’m Michaela! I work out of the Mansfield Office – I offer In-Person and Virtual sessions.
Sometimes life can feel like you’re just moving from one space to the next—trying to figure things out as you go. Instead of facing that alone, I’d love to be on your team—walking alongside you, step by step, as you navigate what’s in front of you and begin to feel more confident in where you’re headed.
Michaela’s path into counseling began with an interest in the human body, initially pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer. While she enjoyed studying how the body functions, she found herself increasingly drawn to understanding the deeper layers of human experience—ultimately discovering a passion for the mind, emotions, and the ways people make sense of their lives.
She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2017) and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2020) from Tarleton State University.
Her clinical experience includes working with individuals navigating substance use, legal challenges, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, and other complex emotional experiences. Michaela approaches her work through a trauma-informed lens, grounded in the belief that people are doing the best they can with what they’ve been given in each moment.
In her words:
I didn’t expect to end up in this field at first, but once I found it, I knew it was where I was meant to be.
I believe that if you show up, that matters. Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to figure it out on your own—I’m here to walk alongside you and help you make sense of it.
Showing up is a powerful first step, and I'm here to meet you there.
My approach to counseling is supportive, practical, and centered on helping you feel more grounded in where you are right now.
I draw from a variety of approaches—including existential therapy, Reality Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)—integrating them in a way that fits you. I want to help you step back and reflect on your experiences, while also recognizing the strength it takes to get through even the smallest moments.
Together, we focus on what is within your control, while also learning to accept what is not. This allows us to create goals that feel realistic, achievable, and meaningful—moving forward in a way that feels steady and manageable.
My goal is to support you in building confidence in the steps you’re taking, knowing that even small steps can lead to meaningful progress over time.
We'll take it one step at a time - moving forward in a way that feels doable and supportive.
