Hi, I’m Michael. I work out of the Old Town Burleson location and offer In-Person and Virtual Sessions for anyone seeking counseling in Texas.
I believe in the uniqueness of all of us and the importance of respect in holding those differences in a non-judgmental space. I work with adults, couples, LGBTQ+ community, those with religious trauma, and other trauma seeded and relational issues.
Michael’s path into counseling has been shaped by a consistent thread—helping others navigate their experiences with greater understanding, support, and care.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry from Hardin-Simmons University, a Master of Arts in Theology & Ministry from Brite Divinity School, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.
His professional journey has been both diverse and intentional. He began as a videographer, capturing stories through a creative lens, before moving into education as a tutor—where he discovered a deep appreciation for one-on-one connection. His work in youth ministry further strengthened his ability to support individuals through meaningful and often complex life experiences.
Over time, these experiences came together in his work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. While his background includes spiritual leadership, his counseling approach is grounded in evidence-based, client-centered care—creating a space that is inclusive, respectful, and supportive of individuals from all backgrounds and belief systems.
In his words:
My journey has been varied, but it has always come back to one thing—walking alongside people as they make sense of their experiences.
Through my background, I’ve seen both the meaningful impact that faith and community can have, as well as the ways those experiences can sometimes be complicated or even painful. Because of that, I have a particular awareness of religious trauma and the ways it can affect how people see themselves, others, and the world around them.
Whether you’re working through something specific or simply trying to understand your story more clearly, my goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, supported, and able to explore what matters most to you.
I’m committed to helping clients reach their personal goals through a range of methods and modalities, each thoughtfully chosen to fit the individual’s unique challenges and personality. While every therapeutic journey is different, there are a few foundational elements that consistently support the process: developing coping and containment strategies, engaging in dynamic problem-solving, and always fostering radical empathy and self-compassion.
My approach is grounded in an Existential framework, which emphasizes how we make meaning of our lives in the face of difficulty and transition. How a person makes sense of their experiences can often shine a light through anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and toward trauma recovery and growth.
I am client centered, first and foremost and I walk with my clients wherever they go, helping them build choices and know value while guiding them toward desired destinations and the next plateau.
Sometimes it takes a lot of exploring to identify our pathways - what brought us here and what's next. You are worth it, now is the time.
I look forward to working with you.
