Hey there, I’m McKenzie. I work out of the Old Town Burleson Office providing in-person and telehealth counseling sessions.
I am passionate about helping people become empowered, grow comfortable with emotions, and learn to connect with all parts of themselves. Couples Counseling is one of my specialities – along with individual adults and women’s issues.
McKenzie’s path into counseling is shaped by both personal experience and professional training—grounded in an understanding of how vulnerable and meaningful the process of growth can be.
Having spent time in the client’s seat herself, she knows that healing requires courage, self-reflection, and a willingness to engage in the work. That experience continues to inform the way she supports others—meeting clients with empathy, understanding, and a deep respect for their process.
McKenzie earned both her Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2011) and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (2013) from Abilene Christian University. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on supporting teens, young adults, adults, and couples through a wide range of challenges.
In her words:
I know firsthand that this process can feel vulnerable and require a lot of self-reflection—but it can also lead to meaningful growth.
My goal is to support you in getting to a place where you can look back and recognize how far you’ve come, while feeling more empowered to navigate life’s challenges along the way.
My approach to therapy is client-centered and integrative, meaning I tailor our work together to fit your unique needs and goals.
I draw from a variety of approaches, including solution-focused, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused, and Imago Therapy. My work with couples is especially informed by advanced training in Imago, which focuses on deepening understanding, connection, and communication within relationships. When working with couples, I also offer premarital counseling as a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator and Twogether in Texas provider—helping partners build a strong foundation for their relationship.
If you’re here, you may be looking for healing, growth, or a way to move toward a healthier version of yourself. My goal is to walk alongside you in that process—offering support, insight, and encouragement along the way.
I look forward to seeing you!
