Scotty Gilmore, MA, MHA, LPC

Psychotherapist

Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, my name is Scotty Gilmore

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge in Sociology-Human Sexuality and a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. And recently I earned my Masters of Health Administration. I am a lifetime learner. I have been in the helping field for over a decade and feel honored that clients allow me to walk with them on their journey towards recovery and stability.

I grew up and spent my first thirty years of life in Los Angeles and moved to Fort Worth ten years ago.  Although not a Texas native, I am proud to call Texas home.

My main areas of focus include:

  • Mood Disorders (including Depression and Bipolar)

  • Anxiety

  • Trauma

  • Addiction and Recovery

  • Life Transitions

  • Family Conflict

  • Couples Counseling

  • LGBTQ

  • Sexuality, Sex Counseling and Sex Addictions

I practice an Integrative Existential approach with clients and incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory, Solution Base Therapy and Mindfulness.  When working with couples I use both Gottman and Imago -- helping to educate, bring relief, and see what is underneath the conflict. I believe that every client has an internal compass ready to help themselves find the answers they seek.  I feel it a privilege to help clients get in touch with their own compass and I consider myself a fellow traveler.  My clients find me pragmatic, compassionate and someone who really understands and “gets it.”

I look forward to meeting you where you are and helping you reach the goals of who you want to be.

                              Scotty Gilmore
