Hi- my name is Jennifer McSparron

I graduated from Antioch University in Seattle, Washington with a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy. We all have a journey -- mine has brought me from Washington to Texas. And, I am glad to be here!  I am passionate about healing and growth through the use of art therapy. Do you have to be an artist to do art therapy? No, in the strictest of answers... But, put another way, we are all our own artist / author. I use this modality to bring out the expression of emotions... giving us information.. and solutions to how you can get to feeling more like yourself -- the way you want to feel!

I am passionate about providing a safe and creative space. It can be daunting to start the process of getting help, although, art making in therapy can help ease this transition. You do not need art experience to benefit from the healing art therapy offers. I enjoy working with teens and adults as they navigate challenges and relational issues. It's a passion helping clients identify challenges in their life, in order to figure out how to create change, while focusing on the whole person.

Some issues I have experience in helping

  • Loss/Grief

  • Anxiety

  • Sadness/Depression/Loneliness

  • Abuse/Neglect

  • Trauma

  • Relationships

My goal as a counselor and art therapist is to help client’s identify the strengths they already possess and cultivate growth . I believe strongly in resilience. My therapeutic approach is warm, welcoming, and encouraging. Some modalities I use include mindfulness, trauma focused, client-centered and strength-based. Let's get creative!
