My journey

Jesstine’s path into counseling has been shaped through both lived experience and clinical work—formed through moments of growth, challenge, and the understanding that life doesn’t always unfold in a straight line.

She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Phoenix. Her clinical experience includes working across multiple levels of care, including inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings, supporting individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and children.

Her work has included trauma-focused care, EMDR, crisis intervention, and supporting clients navigating substance use, complex mental health concerns, and life transitions. These experiences have shaped her ability to meet clients in a variety of seasons—with flexibility, steadiness, and care.

In her words:

My journey has been full of steps and mis-steps—some I chose, some I didn’t. That’s life. We don’t always get to choose what happens, but we do get to choose how we respond—and that’s where growth begins.

I’ve come to see this work as a shared space, where we figure out what’s next and how to move forward—one step at a time.

My approach

The process of shifting your perspective can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be something you do alone. I see my role as a guide—walking alongside you as we begin to understand what’s in your way and what might help you move forward.

I work with individuals of all ages, as well as couples, supporting you in identifying and working through the roadblocks that may be keeping you feeling stuck. No matter where you are in your process, I will meet you there and provide tools and support that help you navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels more manageable.

My approach is flexible and integrative. I incorporate EMDR when helpful to process experiences that may feel unresolved or difficult to move past, and I often use parts work to help you better understand the different aspects of yourself—especially the ones that may feel in conflict or harder to access. Together, we create space to explore those experiences with greater clarity and care.

You are human—and deserving of care, respect, and understanding for everything you’ve been through. Life doesn’t always offer an easy path, but it is meaningful to be able to walk alongside you, helping you better understand your needs and find ways to respond to them with greater clarity and intention.
