When I started counseling over a decade ago, I quickly realized an underserved population in our community was families. I began focusing on children and adolescents – transitions, social concerns, anxiety, depression, feelings of being overwhelmed, self-esteem, recent academic diagnosis, and so many more topics are addressed in sessions.
However, while working with children, I realized how important not only parent involvement in sessions was but also the importance of parents being mentally and emotionally healthy. So, in addition to working with the younger population, I began working individually with parents to guide them on trigger awareness, emotional regulation, communication, self-care, and more.
I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and pediatric clients in a variety of settings. These include an inpatient facility, a high school, college counseling center, and private practice.
