Hi! I’m Megan Williams. I work out of the Mansfield location – in person and telehealth. I am excited to walk with you on a path of self discovery. Having been there myself, I feel inspired to help others. As I work to help you identify thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors, it becomes more possible to make choices that fit and empower you and your vision for yourself and your relationships.
Hi, my name is Megan Williams. My journey into this field began with a deep yearning to understand myself and my family of origin. During that time, I discovered so much about the beautiful and complexity of the human condition! I was inspired to help others make more sense of their own experiences.
I am originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I went to graduate school there at a Catholic women's university - Mount Mary University. I earned my Master of Science in Counseling and Post-Masters in Clinical Mental Health. My mentors were amazing and my experience lead me further down the road to becoming a psychotherapist. As I stepped into the field I knew I was in the right place, working with individuals and couples and helping to make a difference.
In 2023 I moved from Wisconsin to North Texas. While I do miss Kopp's Custer, Brats with cheese, and the beautiful Lake Michigan waterfront, I am happy to have traded it all for Texas "snow days." (You guessed it, I do not miss shoveling a foot of snow to get to work).
I am really glad to be here!
I use a very individualized and compassionate approach with all of my clients. As people, we are constantly evolving and becoming...changing and/or being changed by our life experiences. My work is centered around the identification and exploration of thoughts, feelings. beliefs, and behaviors that are keeping you from living the life you desire.
Together we will examine how the past plays into the present – creating similar experiences and sometimes too familiar outcomes. We will seek to better identify and understand those adaptations and triggers and work to reframe ideas and beliefs that help you take the important first steps toward creating a life that feels more aligned with who you are and what you want. I take a client-centered approach to sessions, often utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) -- all, of course, tailored to fit you.
I am a firm believer in the power of the stories that we tell about ourselves and our experiences. Let's work together to author a new story that includes your identified values, strengths, life goals and accomplishments.
